Steve Williams
Conference Convenor
Steve Williams was formerly the Associate Fellow for High Temperature Lifing and the global methods owner for safety-critical components at Rolls-Royce plc prior to his retirement in 2020 after working for the company for 35 years. In that role he was responsible for developing the creep, LCF, history-dependent plasticity and high temperature overload crack retardation models used by the company and representing RR on the cross-industry group that works with the airworthiness authorities to define new safety regulations. He also co-ordinated European and UK collaborative research programmes on disc lifing, combustor lifing and environmental fatigue, and has been the industrial supervisor for over 30 PhD research programmes.
Since retiring he has continued his work on fatigue and crack growth by carrying out a PhD on complex cycle crack growth at Swansea University.

Associate Professor Svjetlana Stekovic
Deputy Convenor
Svjetlana Stekovic is Senior Associate Professor at Linköping University, Sweden, with a strong background in both academia and industry. Prior to her academic career, she worked at Rolls-Royce plc in Derby, UK, and was involved in multidisciplinary projects on development of high-temperature materials for aero engines. Her research focuses on structural materials, particularly fatigue, oxidation and thermo-mechanical behaviour of advanced alloys. She has coordinated numerous EU-funded and national research projects and and has extensive experience in organising international conferences, such as EUROMAT, TMF Workshop, Fatigue and other conferences.
